Recommend:
0159 GMT [Dow Jones] Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index edges lower in early trade, down 0.7% at 22,745, adding on to Thursday's 1.7% decline, mirroring another disappointing session on Wall Street on the back of worse-than-expected data: the Philadelphia Fed's February index of business activity posted a surprise decline to -12.5, while a positive reading had been expected. In HK, blue-chips are down broadly, with Chinese consumer stocks leading losses amid continued worries of new China tightening measures. Shoe retailer Belle International (1880.HK) is down 3.5% at HK$14.74, while female hygiene product maker Hengan International (1044.HK) is off 2.1% at HK$78.05. (jeffrey.ng@dowjones.com)
