Tor Lars Onarheim has announced that he will resign as chairman and board member of Bergen Group ASA and allow others to continue the company's positive development. The main shareholders propose Hans Petter Eikeland to be elected as the new chairman of the board at the Extraordinary General Meeting to be held on 8 November 2017.

Since fall of 2015, Hans Petter Eikeland has led Bergen Group as CEO through a comprehensive restructuring process followed by positioning the company for new growth. The main shareholders have proposed him as the new chairman of the Board to further strengthen the Group's growth ambitions.

'Over the last year, Bergen Group has succeeded in taking some strategic and important features that have given us a good foundation for new growth. When current chairman Tor Lars Onarheim chooses to resign, it has been important for the main shareholders to ensure that the growth ambitions are both maintained and strengthened', says Eikeland, who wishes to give credit to the current Board and the retiring Chairman of the Board of Directors for their dedicated contribution these past years.

Bergen Group is already in the process of evaluating candidates who can take permanent position as CEO, and expects to conclude within the near future.
