BEST BUY CO., INC. Best Buy has been included on the 16th-annual list of America's Top Corporations for Women's Business Enterprises. The list, which highlights corporations with world-class supplier diversity programs that reduce barriers and drive growth for women-owned businesses.
The list is compiled each year by the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), the nation's leader in women's business development.
'Diversity is core to our values at Best Buy. Our Supplier Diversity program promotes strength in our supply chain, economic enablement in our communities and is a reflection of the markets and customers we serve,' said Nancy Brooks, vice president of Procurement.
Over the past year, Best Buy has increased the money spent with diverse suppliers. Harvard Services Group is one example of a women-owned business that Best Buy has recently partnered with. Harvard Services Group provides janitorial services for Best Buy's corporate campus. Harvard brings expertise, commitment to quality and a clear cost structure.
WBENC's America's Top Corporations for Women's Business Enterprises is the only national award honoring corporations that choose to integrate policies and programs that enable growth and reduce barriers for women-owned businesses; increase opportunity in new markets and empower communities through economic growth and job creation.
Best Buy will formally accept the award later this month.
