The BOCHK Group [comprising Bank of China (Hong Kong), Nanyang Commercial Bank and Chiyu Banking Corporation] would like to inform its customers that the BOC Cards (ATM Cards) issued by the BOCHK Group during the period from 19 May to 12 June have been subject to magnetic stripe problem. If related customers wish to conduct overseas cash withdrawal or point-of-sale transactions via UnionPay network, those transactions would be affected, while they can continue to access the local cash withdrawal service with the cards. However, for customers who received replacement BOC Cards issued by the Group during this period but have never used the cards, the use of those cards in Hong Kong has also been affected.

The Group has already arranged to notify the related customers through SMS and mail the new BOC Cards to those customers from 24 to 27 June at their correspondence address registered with the respective banks of the Group.

Customers should immediately use the new cards and destroy the old ones. The old cards will be voided upon first time use of the new cards or in 30 days after issuance of the new cards (whichever is earlier). The PIN, linking account(s) (if any) and the maximum daily limit of cash withdrawal in respect of the new cards will remain the same as those of the old cards. Re-registration of the bills (if any) for PPS is not required.

The Group apologises for any inconvenience this may cause to customers. For enquiry, please call the Service Hotline at (852) 2691 2323, then press 3,5,0.
