CA WORLD ’15 - As CA Technologies (NASDAQ:CA) closes out its annual CA World event in Las Vegas, the company’s CEO, Mike Gregoire, announced at a Lake Mead bike event that CA will fund all existing high-need science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) DonorsChoose.org teacher requests in Nevada. These are the highest poverty schools in the state, where at least 40% of the student population is eligible for free or reduced lunch. The $100,000 contribution was inspired by The Late Show host and DonorsChoose.org Board of Director Stephen Colbert, who funded all South Carolina DonorsChoose.org teacher requests earlier this year.

DonorsChoose.org, a CA Technologies nonprofit partner, is an online charity that makes it easy for anyone to help students in need. Public school teachers can post requests, and individuals can give to projects of their choice. Through the CA Technologies Double Your Impact STEM Campaign with DonorsChoose.org, the company has already assisted more than 15,000 students in high-need schools.

“We are proud to partner with DonorsChoose.org to help advance STEM learning in Nevada schools,” said Gregoire. “CA and its employees have a long history of giving back and we’re excited to make this donation on behalf of all the participants at our annual CA World bike ride through the Lake Mead River Course.”

“On behalf of DonorsChoose.org, I’d like to thank everyone at CA Technologies for their continued support of STEM learning,” said Charles Best, founder and CEO, DonorsChoose.org. “We truly appreciate CA’s commitment to helping students realize their untapped potential, and encouraging the next generation of technology leaders.”
