Caltex Australia has today announced it will become the official fuel partner for the 2016 Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour race, 5-7 February 2016.

With an extensive history supporting Australian motorsport, including naming rights sponsor of the iconic Caltex Chase dating back to 1987, this year is the first time Caltex Australia has been involved with the Bathurst 12 Hour.

The new partnership comes as the nation's leading fuel supplier expands its already significant involvement in the sport including the recent formation of TeamVortex, which will race in the 2016 V8 Supercar Championships with racing legend Craig Lowndes behind the wheel.

Caltex's Executive General Manager Commercial Bruce Rosengarten said Caltex has enjoyed a long and unwavering relationship with Australian motorsport, and is thrilled to be part of this world class event.

'About 30,000 litres of quality Vortex98 Premium fuel will be used to power the 40 cars that make up the biggest names in Australian and international motor racing,' Mr Rosengarten said.

'Caltex has been trackside supporting Australian motorsport for many years, so to be able to provide our high quality premium fuel to maximise the performance of cars racing in this prestigious event is something we're proud to be involved in.'

Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour Event Director, John Casey said Caltex was 'one of the strongest and most consistent supporters of Australian motorsport'.

'We are thrilled to welcome them to the Bathurst 12 Hour and look forward to them being involved in Australia's International endurance race at one of the world's iconic circuits at Mount Panorama,' he said.

'It's a great fit for both brands and we look forward to welcoming them to the Mountain next month.'

Caltex's involvement in the 2016 Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 hour will include track signage and branding on every car competing in the race on Sunday, February 7.

Record pre-event ticket sales and sold-out campgrounds point to this being the biggest Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour yet.
