Canadian Preferred Securities Trust is a Canada-based closed-end investment trust. The Fund's investment objectives are to provide holders of Units (Unitholders) with monthly cash distributions, preserve capital and provide the opportunity for capital appreciation, and reduce the risk of rising interest rates by managing Portfolio duration. The Fund has been created to invest in an actively managed portfolio consisting of Canadian preferred shares and designed to provide investors with a low-cost investment primarily in preferred shares of Canadian issuers and, to a lesser extent preferred securities of the United States issuers. The Fund offers transferable Class A Units and Class F Units of the Fund. It invests in various sectors, including banks, energy, insurance, utilities, diversified financials, telecommunication services, real estate and media. The manager of the Fund is Fiera Capital Corporation.
