TOKYO, January 12, 2017 - Canon Inc. today announced the grant of an ex parteorder by the District Court of Düsseldorf in Germany for a preliminary injunction against Consumable Direct Ltd., dealing under 'Colour Direct.' The preliminary injunction was granted based on the alleged infringement of the German portion of Canon's European patent 2 087 407 relating to a drum unit and a process cartridge by, inter alia, the offer and sale of certain toner cartridges for use in various models of Canon and HP laser beam printers. Canon is seeking preliminary injunctive relief and rendering of commercial information.
