Cape plc (CIU.LN), an international leader in the provision of critical industrial services to the energy and natural resources sectors, is pleased to announce that its Qatar operations have signed a five-year contract, with a two-year extension option, with Qatar Shell GTL to provide civil and building maintenance services for their facilities at Ras Laffan.

The Pearl Gas-to-Liquids (GTL) plant, jointly developed by Shell GTL and Qatar Petroleum, is the world's largest GTL plant and one of the world's largest, most complex and challenging energy projects ever commissioned.

Samir Chopra, Operations Director Qatar, commented: 'We are delighted to win this contract, which is aligned with our business strategy to diversify into new disciplines with existing customers. This will further strengthen our capability in securing and executing civil and building term maintenance contracts in the oil and gas sector.'
