Carillion Appoints Dietitian to Health Business
Helen Ream has joined leading support services provider Carillion as Dietitian for its health business.

26th August 2014

Helen transferred to Carillion from the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH) following the successful Estates & FM contract win earlier this year.

With almost 21 years experience, Helen acts as an independent assessor of care benchmark for nutrition and is Chair of the Food Counts specialist group of the British Dietetic Association.

Helen has worked closely with the on-site clinical and catering teams at Nottingham on the 'Mealtimes Matter' project, ensuring patient nutrition and hydration needs remain top of the patient care and experience agenda. Helen has also played an instrumental part in the development of the Trust's Central Production Kitchen and in securing the Soil Association's Gold Food for Life Catering Mark, a first in the NHS.

Helen is already actively working with Carillion's Patient Dining Centre of Excellence with a focus on enhancing the nutritional content of patient meals and other food consumed on hospital sites. Helen is relishing the opportunity to share best practice across Carillion's Acute hospital portfolio and to making a positive contribution to improving the patient experience.

Mike Hobbs, Managing Director of Carillion Health comments:
"Helen has been an integral part of the Estates & Facilities team at Nottingham and has played a critical role in developing a much enhanced dining experience for patients. As part of a larger Estates & Facilities team at Carillion, together with Helen we look forward to sharing further innovative patient dining best practice with our Health sector customers."
