The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, intends to procure this requirement on a sole source basis in accordance with the statutory of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Service Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The Government has a need for supply and installation of a power take off winch for a Caterpillar D6T dozer. This includes 145 feet of wire rope with chain, fair leads (four rollers), wire rope hook, electronic control module, joystick, wiring from joystick to winch, and all other items required to complete the installation. Installation will take place in Peoria, Illinois or Minooka, Illinois. Installation must be completed by a Caterpillar certified technician to ensure continued warranty support.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, intends to enter into a firm fixed price contract with Altorfer, Inc DBA CATERPILLAR AUTHORIZED DEALER, 2600 6TH St. SW Cedar Rapids, IA 524041-3504.
The NAICS code for this procurement is 333120 with a size standard not to exceed 1,250 employees.
THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES and no solicitation will be issued; however, any SAM registered small business that believes it can meet the requirement may give written notification to the contract specialist (information provided below) by July 17, 2018 at 2:00 PM CST. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement listed.
A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
