Cegedim and Fresenius Vial, the first operators to send EDI documents using the new State-run CHORUS PRO portal

On September 13, 2016, the French government agency for financial IT (Agence pour l'Informatique Financière de l'Etat, AIFE) officially launched the new CHORUS PRO e-invoicing portal. Starting January 1, 2017, large companies will have to digitize all of their invoices for public entities and send them using the new portal. The goal is to make ordering more fluid for public entities and shorten payment times for suppliers.

Starting in summer 2016, the AIFE enlisted 15 suppliers, including Fresenius Vial, to participate in a pilot program designed to test the system for sending and storing invoices for two public facilities: Assistance Publique - Hôpitaux de Paris (APHP) and the public sector buying group, UGAP.

As a result, Cegedim became the first technical operator to send invoices in EDI format using CHORUS PRO.

For several years now, Fresenius Vial has entrusted Cegedim to handle its electronic orders for public- and private- sector clients, relying on Cegedim's Hospitalis solution.

Hospitalis is an information and data exchange portal used to link healthcare facilities with their suppliers, and to digitalize overall procurement management both in the Pharmaceutical sector (medication, medical devices, etc.) and for purchasing departments (lab reagents, catering, office electronics, travel, etc.). Hospitalis makes it easier to track exchanges by putting all relevant information on its web portal.
