Cegedim : Insurance Solutions helps Mercer successfully expand the scope of its third-party payment services

Mercer picks SP Santé and iSanté solutions to serve its 1.3 million beneficiaries

Cegedim Insurance Solutions announces that Mercer has chosen it to comprehensively manage the company's third-party payment systems, covering both private practices and hospitals, and more than one million beneficiaries. The new system, launched in early 2017, aims to optimize the level of service provided to beneficiaries in the context of expanding direct third-party payments to general practitioners.

For technical, regulatory and service quality reasons, Mercer wanted to upgrade the management of its third-party payment systems, which it previously handled internally. To do so, the company - a world leader in talent, health, retirement, and investment consulting - sought a partner with expertise and a thorough grasp of current regulatory trends in the French healthcare system.

Upon completing a consultation in the first quarter of 2016, Mercer chose Cegedim Insurance Solutions based on its comprehensive product range, ability to supply partly white label solutions, and mastery of the roll-out process, which is scheduled to run from January 1, 2017, to January 1, 2018.

Solutions at the leading edge of industry standards

Mercer has decided to put its trust in Cegedim Insurance Solutions' iSanté and SP Santé solutions. The two products complement each other, vastly enlarging the scope of provider enrollment to all healthcare professionals eligible to receive direct third-party payments:

• SP Santé meets Mercer's needs for basic third-party payments to pharmacies and labs;

• iSanté is used to manage third-party payments for outpatient care;

• A management plateform for Mercer users and a white label portal for healthcare professionals to manage third-party payments to vision, hearing, dental specialists, and hospital stays.

The comprehensive, scalable system will be integrated seamlessly into existing contacts with healthcare networks (Itelis, Carte blanche, Kalivia, Santéclair, Sévéane) and vision specialists (Krys, Optic 2000, Atol, Opticlibre). In addition, it will allow Mercer to expand its provider enrollment to new categories of healthcare professional, such as radiologists and hospital physicians, thereby improving the level of service it provides beneficiaries and laying the groundwork for expanding direct third-party payments to general practitioners.
