AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Austin-based Superior HealthPlan (Superior), a subsidiary of Centene Corporation (NYSE: CNC), today revealed a new brand identity that establishes a consistent look for the managed care company as it continues to expand. The rebranding includes an updated logo, which is a vibrant take on the Superior image that exemplifies the company's mission and better aligns with the Centene brand of health plans.

"After serving underinsured Texans for 15 years, we are thrilled to announce this update to the Superior brand," said Tom Wise, President and CEO of Superior HealthPlan. "Our focus has always been on our Members and our new logo makes it clear that is not going to change. The refreshed brand applies to all product lines, and will help ensure Superior is more readily identifiable across business lines, including Medicaid, Medicare and the Health Insurance Marketplace."

There are important changes with Superior's new look, including the placement of the company's name, which indicates that Superior puts its Members above everything else. The refreshed logo also offers a contemporary feel while preserving a very important quality from its predecessor. Namely, that Superior strives to serve diverse communities throughout the state of Texas including kids, adults, children in Foster Care and persons with disabilities.

"Each day, our employees at Superior, and at Centene, are driven by a singular purpose - to transform the health of our communities, one person at a time," Wise said. "This branding change allows us to be consistent across our product offerings, which means greater organizational efficiency and a better understanding of what Superior brings to the community."

Superior offers STAR, CHIP, STAR+PLUS, CHIP RSA, Medicaid RSA and STAR Health (Foster Care) as well as Medicare Advantage and Ambetter from Superior HealthPlan, a Healthcare Marketplace product.
