COLTENE acquires KENDA

Altstaetten, December 19, 2017 - COLTENE Holding AG (SIX Swiss Exchange: CLTN), an internationally leading developer and producer of dental consumables, is acquiring KENDA AG, a company headquartered in Vaduz. KENDA was established in Liechtenstein in 1977 and is a specialized, internationally active manufacturer of silicone polishing instruments for dentistry applications. Consummation of the acquisition will increase COLTENE Group's consolidated sales by approximately CHF 4.0 million from 2018 on. Both parties agreed not to disclose any details about the acquisition price.

KENDA manufactures high-precision rotating polishing instruments for dentistry and dental laboratory applications. Its polishers are available as autoclavable versions for multi-patient use and as single-patient polishers for one-time use.In the wake of the acquisition, KENDA's competencies will be integrated into COLTENE's Rotary Instruments product group, expanding the current offering of diamond and carbide burs. COLTENE is enhancing this product group's portfolio offering, technology know-how and sales flows through this acquisition.

The transaction is scheduled to close on January 1, 2018, subject to the customary due diligence and regulatory requirements. Reinhard Franck, CEO of KENDA, comments: "COLTENE is a perfect fit for KENDA. After a thorough evaluation, we concluded that KENDA would have a brighter future as a member of the COLTENE Group. We are looking forward to joining the company." COLTENE plans to integrate the activities of KENDA during the course of 2018.
