Saint-Gobain Adfors has opened its first GlasGrid Academy in India. The purpose of this meeting? To raise awareness among the leading players in the country's road and airport sectors to the benefits of the Business's high-performance geotextile solutions.

This technical seminar, led by Dr Joon Lee, GlasGrid Adfors expert, and Nicolas Bastard, Business Development Manager of the Geotextiles business, was the opportunity to evoke the needs of the Indian market in terms of new systems and technologies to extend the life of roads and make them safer.

Those attending included representatives of the NHAI (National Highways Authority of India), Military Engineering Services, the AAI (Airport Authority of India), construction companies and the CRRI (Central Road Research Institute).

'The Indian government wants to invest $120bn to develop civil airports over the next decade, in order to support the extremely dynamic growth of domestic air traffic (25% a year). ADFORS is the 'natural' partner in India for airports, with over thirty installations completed over the last fifteen years, and technical support as close as possible to the customer. The Indian highway sector, 2nd after the USA with 4.7 million km, is a new opportunity to explore for ADFORS with a few projects under discussions', explains Julien de Loynes, Sales and Business Development for Saint-Gobain Adfors Asia.
