Media Release Credit Suisse launches proprietary company analyzer tool on the Bloomberg App Portal

New York, October 21, 2014 Credit Suisse has launched its HOLT Company Analyzer™ on the Bloomberg App Portal, where it can be accessed by Bloomberg Professional service subscribers at {APPS HOLT}. This is the first time that entry-level access to Credit Suisse's proprietary HOLT™ framework has been made available on-demand to a broad audience of financial professionals.
The HOLT Company Analyzer is an interactive tool designed to give institutional investors an understanding of a company's operations, market expectations and risk considerations. It provides an objective view of over 20,000 companies worldwide. In a few simple steps, it allows subscribers to run multiple valuation scenarios, assess the risk-to-reward ratio of companies, and understand market expectations and investment potential. The HOLT methodology examines accounting information, converts it to cash and then values that cash, allowing subscribers to survey the entire corporate capital structure and identify key drivers of value.
"The HOLT Company Analyzer allows you to peer through accounting complexities and quickly get to what's important," said Jim Ostry, Co-Head of HOLT. "You can easily make apples-to-apples comparisons between peers, and ultimately this helps you accurately assess the market expectations across an industry group."
The Bloomberg App Portal enables Bloomberg subscribers to enhance their user experience by adding features and tools that complement those available on the Bloomberg Professional service. Currently, there are more than 80 applications available on the Bloomberg App Portal across a variety of categories
including, data analysis, news and research, portfolio management and risk analysis, valuation and pricing,
data visualization and technical analysis.
"The Bloomberg App Portal is designed to work with applications that embed distinctive, unique IP that complements the Bloomberg Professional service. The HOLT Company Analyzer does exactly that," says Claudio Storelli, Global Head of the Bloomberg App Portal.
"HOLT is based on the simple premise that what's important isn't seeing everything, but seeing the right thing, the right way, and the HOLT methodology helps investors gain a clear and consistent perspective," noted Michel Lerner, Co-Head of HOLT. "We are excited to be able to offer a taste of these unique insights to a broader user base via the Bloomberg App Portal."
