Landmark Solutions, a division of Landmark Information Group Ltd, has been selected as one of four companies that will maintain Ordnance Survey's flagship MasterMap digital mapping database, over the next four years. OS MasterMap is Great Britain's most accurate and comprehensive geographic record containing over 450 million real-world features including individual addresses to roads and buildings. Chris Brackley, Managing Director of Landmark Solutions, said: "We are delighted to be extending our long-standing relationship with Ordnance Survey through this framework and we are very pleased that Ordnance Survey has placed its trust in us to maintain such a prestigious and internationally-renowned mapping database."

The recent decline of the jet fuel market may be pointing to weaker times ahead for Europe's refinery profitability. The surplus of jet fuel in Europe is very high, with Genscape noting that stocks in the key Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp area were 30% higher at the end of May 2015 compared with last year. A surplus of 400,000 tonnes was recorded in June.

Adventurer Dr Bertrand Piccard is giving a keynote speech at the Global Solar Leaders Summit on 14 September during the GulfSol event, organised by dmg events. Piccard was one of the two pilots behind the flight of the first aircraft to fly around the world using only solar power, and is currently preparing for the final leg of an ambitious round-the-world flight in Solar Impulse 2, a revolutionary single-seater aircraft made of carbon fiber, which is the same size as a Boeing 747 but weighs less than a family saloon car.
