A new Rs. 1000 commemorative note has been issued by Central Bank of Sri Lanka this week, designed and printed by De La Rue.

The commemorative note is in keeping with the original design of the Rs. 1000, but includes some new designs including the Celebrating Diversity logo, images of a Temple, Mosque, Tamil Kovil and a Church, and the prefix appearing as S70. Below shows the Governor of the Central Bank receiving a presentation frame from Superintendent of Currency Mrs Seneviratne and De La Rue.
