Dell today announced that its board of directors has declared the special cash dividend of $0.13 per common share contemplated by the revised definitive merger agreement with affiliates of Michael Dell and Silver Lake Partners. The record date for the special dividend will be the close of business on Oct. 28, 2013. Payment of the special dividend is conditioned upon, and will occur promptly after, the closing of the pending merger transaction. The closing is expected to occur before the end of the third quarter of Dell's current fiscal year, which ends on Nov. 1, 2013.

Dell has been informed by The NASDAQ Stock Market that the stock will not trade ex-dividend. Investors who have questions regarding the trading of the stock prior to the closing should contact The NASDAQ Stock Market.
