Talks On Dell Buying Quest Break Down -Reuters

Discussions on Dell Inc. (>> Dell Inc.) taking over Quest Software Inc. (QSFT) have failed, but representatives for both sides remain in contact, Reuters reported Friday, citing a source familiar with the matter.
The negotiations have been tenuous, the source said, without giving the reason for the failure.
The companies declined to comment to Reuters.
Quest shares closed down 5.04% at $23.74.
