Det norske oljeselskap ASA has appointed Olav Henriksen (58) to the position of SVP Projects. Mr Henriksen has worked with large development projects in ConocoPhillips since 1990. He will take up the position 19 January 2015.

CEO Karl Johnny Hersvik has been the acting SVP Projects since the integration of Marathon Oil Norge on 15 October. He will now be succeeded by Mr Henriksen, who will have the overall responsibility for projects in Det norske.

Mr Henriksen will add considerable competence to the company and will be a valuable supplement to its executive management team. All projects will now be organized into one unit. The Ivar Aasen project is the largest project for which Mr Henriksen will assume responsibility. The Ivar Aasen project organization will remain unaltered, with the same responsibilities as previously.

Det norske has great ambitions on the Norwegian shelf and shall ensure that future development projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. Consequently, we are very pleased that someone with such extensive experience from large development projects will be joining our team", says chief executive Karl Johnny Hersvik.

Mr Henriksen has a degree in engineering from Møre og Romsdal Ingeniørhøyskole (the Møre and Romsdal college of engineering). His extensive work experience at both Kværner Installasjon and ConocoPhillips includes work in large projects such as Ekofisk, Statfjord, Gullfaks, Oseberg and Eldfisk.

I see Det norske as one of the most exciting companies on the Norwegian shelf going forward, and I am looking forward to contribute to the execution of future projects together with a highly competent organization», says Mr Henriksen.
