• Completion of security testing marks a significant milestone for AirPocket as it prepares to launch in public beta in select markets at the end of the quarter
Digital payments company Digital CC Limited (ASX:DCC and 'the Company') is pleased to announce that the second phase of security testing has successfully completed on schedule, ahead of the imminent public beta launch at the end of the quarter.
The second phase security testing, known as the Penetration phase, was carried out by an independent third party technology security firm Security Innovation, a leading U.S. provider of security and risk assessments to many S&P 500 companies.
Security Innovation attempted to find and exploit potential vulnerabilities in the AirPocket application and supporting infrastructure. During this phase of testing no high-risk vulnerabilities were identified and Security Innovation have confirmed the application has a robust system in place.
The infrastructure that supports the AirPocket application was designed from the ground-up to be resilient against failures of internal systems. This has been achieved by actively monitoring every component of the infrastructure, maintaining redundant backups of all functional units, and by implementing rigorous failover procedures that will be automatically executed in the case that a fault is detected. This allows AirPocket to recover from almost any disaster without interruption of service.
DCC is continually developing and improving its infrastructure to enhance its security and ability to recover from potential failures. The Company is in the process of implementing a number of security improvements to user workflows and methods to avoid exposure to low and medium risk exploits, which are undergoing integration into the application ahead of the public beta launch at the end of this month.
Zhenya Tsvetnenko, Executive Chairman, Digital CC Limited commented:
"I am extremely pleased with the development of the AirPocket application to date. The successful completion of the second phase security testing provides validation that the application can deliver a highly secure and robust platform for users to transfer funds. With the public beta launch imminent we are now integrating a number of final upgrades and additional security improvements as we begin to test the application in an external environment."
Joe Basirico Vice President of Security Services at Security Innovation commented:
"Security Innovation performed a thorough architecture review and security assessment on Digital CC's AirPocket Application Programming Interface (API). We found the API to be robust and well architected for security in order to support the AirPocket application."
