Drew Laney, 29, a production coordinator for Dow AgroSciences in Midland, Michigan, was selected for his impact on several key projects. Laney led efforts to extend plant cleanouts, which reduced shutdowns and start-ups in addition to generating substantial cost savings and improving plant safety. Laney also leads Dow's Michigan Operations Dry Slab Network, a chartered team of representatives from all Michigan Operations plants focused on reducing loss of primary containment events.

Logan Schofield, a 28-year-old manufacturing representative in Freeport, Texas, has driven multi-million dollar projects. He's also led implementation of new technology in Dow's ethylene production facilities to improve feedstock flexibility by 30 percent, resulting in immediate profit margin increases. Schofield has also received multiple Dow awards, recognizing his contributions to Dow's sustainability objectives.

"I am extremely proud of our people in Operations," said Peter Holicki, corporate vice president, Operations.  "Logan and Drew are both strong innovators and leaders, and are both very deserving of this recognition. As young professionals, they have clearly demonstrated the drive, initiative, leadership and technical excellence that are needed to achieve success in this industry.  I'm proud to have them on the team."

FORBES magazine's 30 Under 30 in Manufacturing award recognizes individuals who are top innovators in their field, working to modernize the way things are made in a greener, more tech-savvy world.
