Our Managing Director, Richard Caldwell, answers your questions sent during the month of October 2016.

The VDL feasibility study has been concluded. Will now the product-test-line start?

The feasibility study was conducted as Phase 1 of a 3 phase contract with VDL Enabling Technology Group. Currently we are engaged in Phase 2 - Engineering and Design.

This will conclude in the next month or two and be followed by Phase 3 - Realization and Testing. This will produce multiple prototypes for demonstration, testing and accreditation. Production of a successful prototype is required prior to moving to a pilot line. Primary candidates for pilot line production are Australia, China and, possibly, Turkey.

Shareholders have the information that the dialogue with Turkey started again. What is the current status quo?

There has been much change in Turkey, particularly at the government level. New relationships are being developed and projects updated. However, key champions of our project e.g. Turkish Development Bank, are continuing to promote Perovskite Solar Cell technology for government funding opportunities. Turkey is strongly in favour of developing renewable technology in order to meet its carbon reduction targets and to help eliminate its reliance on foreign oil and gas imports.

Is the use of perovskite cells on glass & metal identical or is there a huge difference regarding the technic?

Glass has significant technical advantages over metal as a substrate for PV development. For example, TCO glass is conductive and glass is hermetic and an ideal barrier for cell encapsulation. However, Dyesol has now largely overcome these technical challenges and is confident of producing PSC PV for both glass and metal.

Shareholders would like to know, how binding the 13 percent efficiency of the prototypes are?

Dyesol has not made any representations about prototype panel performance. Gen1 market entry glass product is targeted at generating a minimum of 12% conversion efficiency.
