28 January, 2014 Petrochem Middle East selects du's Enterprise solutions to streamline communications

Petrochem Middle East, one of the largest independent chemical distributors in the Middle East, uses du 's Enterprise solutions to power its communications and data centre strategy as it transforms the face of the regional petrochemical business. With fixed, mobile telephony and data centre strategy key to the company's success, it chose du, the fastest-growing telecommunications company in the UAE, to provide managed Enterprise solutions that facilitate quicker, more efficient communications.

Satish Grover, Chief Operating Officer, Petrochem, knows the value that reliable and efficient communications support brings to a company. "Fixed, mobile telephony and data centre strategy is so vitally important to business. In today's hyper connected world it's so easy for people to hide behind an email, but at Petrochem Middle East we encourage our employees to talk to one another - it gets the job done more quickly and efficiently, and nurtures stronger ties between colleagues."

To support this more personal approach to business, Petrochem has supplied its employees with 150 du mobiles, using du'sBusiness Circle Plans . For just AED50 per month, lines registered with du's Business Circle Plan enjoy unlimited free calls amongst colleagues, with up to 100% credit back and lifetime validity.

Getting the most out of all communications services allows Petrochem to focus on the things that matter most: expanding business and exceeding its current levels of success. To do this, the company uses du's Voice Select service, so that national and international calls made from its existing non-du fixed lines are made through du's network and charged at du rates, through the use of a router gateway.

"It's much more cost effective than any alternative because it offers Pay by the Second billing, and it's completely transparent to users," said Grover. "Our headquarters are in Jumeirah Lakes Towers in Dubai, but we also have operations in Dubai's Jebel Ali area, plus overseas in Mumbai, Singapore and Shanghai, as well as associate companies in Antwerp and London. I'd estimate that around 30% of all of our calls are international, so being able to make savings on these, as we do through du, is a real business benefit."

Petrochem also makes use of du's 100Mbps broadband line, which offers seamless connectivity and enables extended IP services such as VoIP and LifeSize high definition video communications systems in its conference rooms. "We're keen to explore even further connectivity options from du, such as their IP-video managed service, which we believe will have huge productivity benefits; it's another way of making sure our employees are always talking, and doing business as efficiently and as cost-effectively as possible. Mobile is great for this, and video is even better," commented Grover.

Fahad AlHassawi, Chief Commercial Officer, du, said: "We are delighted to add Petrochem to our growing repertoire of business customers. By selecting our business solutions, Petrochem has a communications partner that offers a wide array of customised, scalable and reliable suite of solutions that grows and adapts to the business requirements. We are looking forward to grow and strengthen our relationship with Petrochem."

du is among a group of the world's top telecoms operators which now offer hosting and managed services. With its networks, its data centre expertise and its strategic role in switching and managing network bandwidth, du is extremely well placed to provide co-location and hosting services. The latter are becoming increasingly important as organisations turn to their preferred telecoms and network operator for more ICT and applications services.

du is already well established as a provider of web and email hosting to end user customers. And because it has access to available data-centre capacity in strategic business locations next to, or in close proximity to, network hubs and access peering points, it is possible to expand the services footprint for customers wanting IT managed services and the ubiquitous cloud. The telecoms operator's pivotal role in supporting and managing IP networks and access to high bandwidth services puts it in a strong position as a provider of data-centre managed services, such as server, storage and applications hosting to customers.
