More than 4,000 GP practices are now using EMIS Web, according to new figures released by EMIS Group- and the roll-out to GPs in England is almost complete.

At 31 December 2014, a total of 4,261 practices were live with the system - compared to 3,327 at the same point in 2013.

Roll-out of the software to EMIS GP users in England is almost complete, and in Wales all EMIS practices are scheduled to have moved to EMIS Web by the end of 2015.  In Northern Ireland, practices will begin to upgrade to the system for the first time in the latter part of the year.

EMIS Web is also gaining momentum in the community, children's and mental health sectors (CCMH), where it is helping to join up patient care across multiple services and clinicians.

In addition to a number of previously announced contract wins, new CCMH contracts have been signed in Bristol, Glasgow and South Tyneside.

The monthly number of visitors to the Group's authoritative patient-facing online service, under the Patient brand, rose to 17 million in December compared with 11 million at the end of 2013.

Matt Murphy, EMIS Managing Director, said: "I am delighted to report such strong progress in the use of EMIS Web across primary care and community, child and mental health.

"As more healthcare organisations implement this flagship system, we can provide even greater opportunities for integrated care within local and regional communities - supporting the NHS' vision of fully interoperable electronic health records, available to clinicians wherever treatment is provided."
