EMIS Web users can now receive NHS 111 messages directly into their clinical system using Document Management in Workflow Manager.

NHS 111 is a telephone service to help make it easier for patients to access local health services.

If a patient visits a local health service after using the NHS 111 service, a message about the patient's status is sent from the healthcare provider's system (eg a hospital system) to the patient's GP practice.

Unlike the NHS 111 messages received via NHS Mail, with this integration the messages are delivered directly within EMIS Web for efficiency and convenience. The healthcare provider's system also receives an acknowledgement that any messages sent have been received correctly, reducing the chance of lost messages.

If you're an EMIS Web user you can also find more information on the EMIS Support Centre.

To receive NHS 111 messages, contact your local Directory of Services lead or NHS 111 provider.
