EMIS has been included in a £300 million framework agreement to provide clinical IT services to 30 community and mental health trusts in London and the South.

The framework covers the delivery of a wide range of non-GP services including: community care, children's and mental health services.

The news follows an extensive procurement process to test bidders' ability to deliver a comprehensive range of services including: application software and deployment; hosting services and reporting, integration and cross care setting functionality.

EMIS is one of just 10 companies included on the framework and was successful in all three service areas (Lots).

The company's next generation clinical system, EMIS Web, was a key part of its bid.   The system was specifically designed to deliver cross-organisational integrated healthcare - enabling the secure sharing of clinical information between GPs and community teams across local communities.

EMIS Web is already being used in many community settings and EMIS recently announced plans to further refine it for Community Care, Child and Mental Health settings.

For Lot 1 (application software and deployment), EMIS partnered with Castlerigg Consulting, which will deliver transformation services including facilitating service re-design from management and clinical perspectives.

For Lot 3 (integration and cross care setting functionality), EMIS partnered with Healthcare Gateway Limited - to deliver real-time data exchange between different healthcare systems - and Graphnet, which will supply reporting services including deploying an integration engine and a clinical portal.

Neil Laycock, Managing Director of EMIS, said: "We are delighted to have been successful in all three lots - demonstrating our ability, together with our partners, to meet the needs of a wide range of healthcare professionals, beyond our heartland of GPs.

"We look forward to the opportunity to use our expertise to help these community and mental health trusts deliver safe, informed and joined-up patient care."
