THE EMPIRE DISTRICT ELECTRIC COMPANY ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT OF BOB PARKER


JOPLIN, MO - April 20, 2016 - Mr. Bob Parker will retire from The Empire District Electric Company on April 30, 2016, following 22 years of service.


Mr. Parker joined the Company in July 1993, as a part-time Clerk Warehouseman in Hollister. In February 1994, he became a Groundman and advanced to become a Journeyman Lineman in March 1997. In May 2008, he was promoted to Line Foreman in Greenfield. Mr. Parker later worked in Ash Grove before returning to Greenfield in 2012, where he retired as Line Foreman.


He is a graduate of Branson High School. Before coming to Empire, Mr. Parker was an Assistant Manager at Consumers Market in Branson, Missouri.


Mr. Parker looks forward to spending his retirement fishing, camping, hunting, playing with the grandkids, and farming cattle. He is a member of the Everton Christian Church.
