JOPLIN, MO - April 21, 2016 - Mr. Stuart Houston retired from The Empire District Electric Company on March 31, 2016, following 35 years of service.
Mr. Houston joined the Company in June 1981, as an Engineer. During his career he held the positions of Assistant Manager of District Engineering, Local Projects Manager at the Riverton Power Plant, Results Manager at the State Line Power Plant, and Maintenance Manager at State Line Power Plant, the position he held at the time of his retirement.
Mr. Houston received his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kansas. Before coming to Empire, he worked as an Electrical Panel Wirer for Goettl Brothers Refrigeration in Phoenix, Arizona.
As a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri, Mr. Houston is a member of The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, National Society of Professional Engineers, and Missouri
