SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 10 -- The California Public Utilities Commission issued the following news release:

The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) today announced that its next Thought Leaders Speaker Series will feature CPUC President Michael Picker and Thierry Lepercq, Executive Vice President at ENGIE, an independent power producer, in a discussion on the current dominant trends in global energy policy: decarbonization, decentralization, and digitalization.

WHEN: Tuesday, December 12, 2017, 3 p.m.- 4:30 p.m.

WHERE: CPUC Auditorium, 505 Van Ness Ave., San Francisco; also available in real time and archived via webcast at: www.californiaadmin.com/cpuc.shtml

WHO: Michael Picker, President, CPUC

* Thierry Lepercq, Executive Vice President Research, Technology & Innovation, ENGIE

WHAT: President Picker will engage Mr. Lepercq's global insight on the exponential growth of competitive renewables and electric vehicles and how this growth will turn power systems across the globe upside down.

The CPUC hosts the Thought Leaders Speaker Series to stimulate thought on and discussion of some of the most pressing challenges facing California utility regulators and the private sector industries impacted by state policies. Leading experts from around the world take center stage to offer their expertise and vision in areas such as communications, energy, water, transportation, the environment, green jobs, and more.

Although a quorum of Commissioners may be in attendance, no CPUC action will be taken at this event.
