HBA Certification Bureau Veritas

The Imaging Department, Pharmaceutical Services, Sterilization Centre and Nuclear Medicine Unit from Hospital Beatriz Ângelo (HBA) received international certification of quality ISO 9001.

The certification, conferred by Bureau Veritas, attests the fulfilment in those four services of all procedures necessary to an efficient management of the respective quality systems. These departments were certified in 100% conformity with the systems considered as reference by that international organization.

The Imaging Department, Pharmaceutical Services and Sterilization Centre were certified for the first time, in 2013. As for Nuclear Medicine, this was the first time the service was submitted to the auditing process of Bureau Veritas.

Bureau Veritas, established in 1828, is a world reference in the certification of quality. The certification ISO 9001 is valid for three years and, during that period, it is confirmed annually by the organization, which performs auditing and testing according to the applicable plan. For HBA, this process is also followed-up by the Accreditation and Quality Certification Board (DACQ) from Luz Saúde.

The attainment of this important certification was only possible thanks to the commitment of HBA management team and all the departments and services involved.
