Constellation Energy, a leading competitive retail energy provider and the preferred natural gas supplier to the city of New Philadelphia, Ohio, has announced new fixed rates for city consumers to help them manage their winter heating bills.

"We are pleased to offer the citizens of New Philadelphia a fixed rate that gives them price stability in a volatile market," said Bruce Stewart, chief marketing officer for Constellation, which, through its affiliates, was selected a year ago as New Philadelphia's preferred natural gas supplier.

Constellation has set a fixed rate of $4.95 per thousand cubic feet (Mcf) for billing cycles from June 2012 through May 2013. Constellation encourages customers to enroll by May 4, 2012 to ensure they reap the full advantage of starting the program with the June 2012 billing cycle.

New Philadelphia Mayor Mike Taylor encouraged community participation in the program. "The Constellation program provides the community with price certainty, at a time when energy prices are fluctuating," Taylor said.

Current program members will automatically get the new rate. Residents and small businesses in the city of New Philadelphia are eligible to participate in the program, and will receive information via mail in the next few weeks. Those wishing to "opt-in," or senior citizens requesting the discount, may call Constellation directly at 1-866-622-6569 or sign up online (using promo code: NP042011) at: https://signup.constellation.com/newphilly

The $4.95/Mcf rate is available any time during the period June 2012 to May 2013, and excludes taxes and fees for services charged by the local gas utility company. If consumers enroll after May 4, 2012, they will be enrolled in the next available billing cycle. Those who enroll with Constellation's natural gas program will continue to be billed by the local gas utility. Constellation's charges will appear as a line item on the bill.

Customers may learn more about the program by contacting Constellation Customer Service toll free at 1-866-622-6569, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EDT.
