• The new contract, lasting until 2021, will cover a wide range of services.
  • The company will carry out services for Shell-QGC in Queensland until December 2018.

Broadspectrum, Ferrovial Services' Australian subsidiary has extended contracts with the Australian Department of Defence and the energy company Shell-QGC, strengthening its presence in the facility management and energy sectors. The company will carry out a wide range of services on sites of the Australian Department of Defence for 450 million Australian dollars (300 million euro). Broadspectrum will be responsible for the estate maintenance, cleaning, catering, and stores and warehouse management and other specialist services such as environmental management, rescue and firefighting, aircraft refueling and management of petrol, oil and lubricants. The Ferrovial Services' Australian subsidiary won this contract in 2014 for a six-year term, which has now been extended one year, until 2021.

In addition, Broadspectrum, through its subsidiary Easternwell, has agreed a one year extension with Shell-QGC (until December 2018) in the contract providing 12 rigs for well services in the Coal Seam Gas fields in Queensland.

Broadspectrum is also part of the Western Roads Upgrade project, a 1,800 million Australian dollars (1,150 million euro) project in Melbourne, which was recently awarded to the Netflow consortium, formed by Cintra and Plenary. The company, with Amey, will carry out rehabilitation and maintenance services over 260 kilometers of urban roads for 20 years. This is the first road maintenance contract awarded to Broadspectrum since its acquisition by Ferrovial in May 2016.
