Through early implementation projects of the Network Code on Capacity Allocation Mechanisms (CAM Network Code), Fluxys Belgium has been progressively adding products on the PRISMA European Capacity Platform since 2013. Today, the company successfully completed full implementation.

The full implementation means that for all interconnection points with neighbouring countries to which the CAM Network Code applies standard products (yearly, quarterly, monthly, day-ahead and within-day) are commercialized on PRISMA in accordance with the auction calendar. These products will be offered as bundled and unbundled products in function of the available capacity at both sides of the interconnection point. Furthermore, Fluxys Belgium made within-day products available.

For the points where the CAM Network Code doesn't apply, the situation remains the same: capacities are commercialized through the Fluxys Electronic Booking System, in writing or implicitely, following the rules described in the Access Code for Transmission.

Early adopter

As a co-founder and active member of the PRISMA European Capacity Platform, Fluxys Belgium was a frontrunner in the movement towards a highly integrated European gas market in the spirit of the network code. Since 2013, the company progressively broadened its offering of bundled products on PRISMA.

Harmonized rules through Network Codes

From 1 November 2015 onwards, the CAM Network Code (Commission Regulation (EU) No 984/2013) is applicable. Via ENTSOG, the European transmission system operators are working within the framework of the EU's Third Energy Package to draw up harmonised rules or network codes. Each network code is being drawn up on the basis of framework guidelines compiled by the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER). Once the network code has been approved by the European authorities, it enters into force.
