Fujitsu today announced that it has reached agreement with the Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (Tokyo 2020) to participate as a Gold Partner, the top level of the Tokyo 2020 Sponsorship Programme.

From around the world, people, information and infrastructure come together at the Olympic and Paralympic Games, a place where technological innovation is possible. These events, therefore, represent a perfect match for Fujitsu's vision of Human Centric Innovation, in which Fujitsu supports people to generate value, both for customers and for society as a whole. Fujitsu's contribution will be to mobilize its data center hardware technologies to deliver services as part of the wider integrated Tokyo 2020 Games technology solution designed and managed by Worldwide Olympic Partner Atos.

Moreover, with an eye toward Tokyo 2020, today Fujitsu newly established its Tokyo Olympic & Paralympic Operations Unit. In addition to supporting the efforts of event organizers over the next six years, this new unit will also work with partners in each industry on business relating to the events as a Data Centre Partner to provide critical support for Tokyo 2020 operations.

Fujitsu has supported numerous athletes, including participants in past Olympic and Paralympic Games. Leading up to Tokyo 2020, in addition to continuing to help foster the development of athletes, Fujitsu, as a Data Center Hardware Partner(), will work on leveraging related data center hardware ICT to deliver new thrills for fans of these Games.
