"This year's agenda is built around four rapidly developing technology trends: mobile, social, cloud and information or 'big data'",said John Roberts, vice president, distinguished analyst and conference chair for Symposium/ITxpo. "Together, these trends create a 'nexus of forces' that will wreak havoc across industries and force organizations to change how they compete. CIOs now have an opportunity to use these new technologies and practices to free up resources and increase innovation and value for the enterprise."

On Monday 12 November, 'industry perspectives' sessions will be held for technology executives from the financial services, government, education and energy and utilities sectors. The main agenda kicks off on Tuesday morning with a welcome address from Gartner CEO Gene Hall and an analyst keynote lead by Gartner senior vice president and head of research Peter Sondergaard.

The conference and exhibition features nine role-based tracks, plus a special program just for CIOs, focusing on the issues, decisions and actions required for CIOs to be successful.

The agenda includes more than 200 sessions, workshops, how-to clinics, roundtables and more led by more than 50 Gartner analysts and Executive Partners from around the world. Delegates have the opportunity to book a one-on-one meeting with a Gartner expert to discuss their specific challenges. Delegates leave with personally relevant advice, stimulated thinking and an action plan for the year ahead.

More than 40 leading technology and service providers will be exhibiting at Symposium/ITxpo.
