The workflow and email experts at GROUP Business Software (GBS) are setting off a firework of innovations at CeBIT 2017 with their solutions for blocking cyber attacks, automating business processes and integrating cloud scenarios.

At Stand A30 in Hall 2, GBS is emphasizing not only the GBS AppDesigner for platform independent workflow management as well as extensive services to modernise applications for businesses planning to migrate to the Microsoft world, but also the email management software, iQ.Suite, which now includes innovative sandbox technology. This year's CeBIT presentation at the GBS stand will be rounded off by a comprehensive services portfolio for IBM and Microsoft collaboration platforms, supported by the specialists at BULPROS.

Especially one strategical aspect is important to the collaboration experts at GBS during and after CeBIT, as Andreas Richter, EVP Marketing & Product Management at GBS points out: 'Every single solution we present is available for both the Microsoft and the IBM world. Whether it's a well thought out security concept for safe digital communication or the creation of workflow-based business applications: Our solutions are made to be fully integrated - from Microsoft Exchange, Office365 or SharePoint, to IBM Domino or IBM Verse. And that gives our customers exactly the flexibility they need.'

Integration of workflows in SharePoint with AppDesigner

Workflow management is a decisive factor in improving efficiency in business processes. The GBS AppDesigner rises to the call: The platform independent and intuitive solution makes it easy to create and manage business processes, focussing on the interplay between Microsoft SharePoint 2013/2016 and Office 365, the collaboration platforms used in many companies. 'We use live scenarios to demonstrate how efficient workflow management can make moving previously manual and paper-bound processes into the digital world, and how easily business processes can be automated. Companies can improve the efficiency of business critical processes enormously and seamless integration eliminate media discontinuity,' according to Constanze Zarth, Managing Director at GBS.

The GBS AppDesigner provides users with powerful workflow features, starting with simple forms, such as a vacation request, right up to complex business procedures such as are often used in complaint management. The GBS AppDesigner is designed to be used on-premises or from the cloud.

Email security: Sandbox technology improves ransomware protection

Rapidly growing digitalisation makes cyber security more important for businesses than ever before. Acknowledging this development, the email experts at GBS have pushed ahead, expanding the security technology in their email management software, iQ.Suite. A highlight at the CeBIT will be the debut of the new cloud-based sandbox technology in iQ.Suite. This innovative technology will block especially ransomware and Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs) quickly and reliably.

The innovative security solution strengthens iQ.Suite Watchdog, an existing GBS malware solution: Suspicious executable files are run in secure environments, known as sandboxes. Their behaviour is evaluated under realistic circumstances, without endangering live or productive systems. The results are applied in iQ.Suite Watchdog to determine if a specific email attachment should be classified as a threat.

The email experts at GBS have also announced iQ.Suite for Microsoft Azure. The centralised email management solution, already available for Microsoft Exchange and Office 365, soon will be available through the Microsoft Azure Marketplace.

Platform migration to the Microsoft world: Services for modernising applications

Everyone planning a platform migration to the Microsoft world will appreciate the collaboration experts at the GBS Stand. They will demonstrate how to successfully migrate email and application landscapes. GBS's comprehensive modernisation services are designed to support businesses in readying their application landscapes for web, cloud and mobile use. The spotlight will be on two solutions in this context: The GBS Retirement Manager and the GBS SharePoint Integrator.

Each solution assists businesses in modernising and retiring IBM Domino applications. While the GBS Retirement Manager takes care of shutting down IBM Domino databanks and converting existing data to PDF format, the GBS SharePoint Integrator imports this data to Microsoft SharePoint for further use. The entire process is automated, so businesses can make smooth transitions a reality.

BULPROS shows expertise

For the first time, the Microsoft specialists from BULPROS will be represented at the GBS stand with their own workstation to support GBS in advising customers regarding the integration of Microsoft SharePoint, Office 365 and Microsoft Azure in existing infrastructures. During the past years, BULPROS has acquired extensive expertise in the Microsoft market and has supported customers with their comprehensive know how in many major projects.
