GLOBALSTAR RESELLER VMD SIGNS AS EXCLUSIVE PROVIDER OF SPOT SATELLITE-BASED SAFETY AND TRACKING SOLUTIONS FOR THE NATIONAL AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION

Dublin, Ireland , February 09 2012- Globalstar Europe Satellite Services Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Globalstar, Inc. (NASDAQ: GSAT) and a leading provider of mobile satellite voice and data services to businesses, governments and consumers, today announced that its Tunisian SPOT re-seller, VMD, has signed a three year partnership with the National Automobile Association as the exclusive supplier of SOS beacons and Tracking Solutions, including the SPOT Satellite GPS Messenger™ and the SmartOne to all automobile rallies held in Tunisia.

VMD will act as the national re-seller for Globalstar's suite of SPOT Messenger and SmartOne asset tracking products to the marine, outdoor recreation, automotive and petroleum markets within the North African mainland territory via their established dealer network.  Combined with SPOT technology, VMD will launch its new VMDtrac platform, providing a regional tracking and emergency notification solution to public and private sectors.

SPOT messenger devices, including SPOT Satellite GPS Messenger™ and SPOT Connect™ have initiated more than 1,600 emergency rescues worldwide.  Many of these rescues resulted in lives being saved both on land and at sea.  SPOT provides connectivity to adventurists, travellers and workers when spending time outdoors or travelling in remote areas.  SPOT allows users to check-in and share their locations with their contacts back home.  In life-threatening emergencies, users can send SOS messages with their GPS location to the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Centre (IERCC).  Because SPOT uses 100% satellite technology, it works beyond the range of mobile phone towers and VHF radio.

"Thanks to Globalstar and SPOT satellite technology, VMD is able to deploy a vital regional tracking and distress platform called VMDtrac, enabling remote tracking of assets and personnel throughout North Africa.  VMDtrac also facilitates centralized SOS, enables distress calls and coordinates rescue operations within the region.  Several of our customers from the public and private sector are convinced that SPOT and the VMDtrac added-value solution are vital to their operations", said Yosri BEN ISMAIL, operations manager with VMD.
