MMC Norilsk Nickel and Government of Zabaikalsky krai signed an agreement on joint financing of acquisition of L-410 UVP-E20 aircraft in the amount of RUB 206 million for air transportation, including itineraries Chita-Gazimursky Zavod and Chita-Nerchinsky Zavod.

The MMC contribution constitutes 50% of the aircraft value. The plane is to be acquired in H2 of 2014, being the region the proprietor and the regional company Aeroservice LLC the operator.

Norilsk Nickel undertakes a regional investment project within the state-private partnership frames that comprehends 227 km of a railroad and in particular Bystrinsky Concentrator for complex ores processing.

The Company and the regional Government signed in 2013 an agreement on social and economic cooperation aiming at development of Zabaikalsky krai including production and social infrastructure facilities.

In the opinion of Sergey Dyachenko, first deputy CEO, COO of Norilsk Nickel, the Chita project is one of a top-priority for Norilsk Nickel and evidently one of the important issues for its implementation is the development of logistic accessibility of Bystrinsky Concentrator construction site to the regional center. This is the reason for the Company to have supported the initiative of Zabaikalsky krai on joint investment into a new aircraft that will be servicing routes important for MMC.
