German Court Delays Ruling On Motorola Mobility Vs Microsoft

A German court Friday delayed ruling on a case to determine whether Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) infringes on a Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc. (>> Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc) utility patent governing email sync technology.
The ruling was delayed to allow all parties more time to scrutinize documents that became available April 20.
The patent, EP0847654, stems from the pager era and relates to two-way communication devices. It is held by Motorola Mobility, which is being acquired by Google Inc. (>> Google Inc).
Motorola asserted the same patent against Apple Inc. (AAPL) in the same court and won earlier this year, forcing Apple to temporarily halt sales of a number of mobile devices.
