HERO6 Black and Fusion Spherical Camera Recognized for
Excellence in Digital Imaging
GoPro, Inc. is proud to announce that it has been named a CES 2018 Innovations Awards Honoree for its flagship HERO6 Black and spherical Fusion cameras. These prestigious recognitions honor GoPro's outstanding design and engineering in digital imaging and its bar-setting innovation in video and photo capture.
HERO6 Black is the ultimate GoPro for sharing life as you live it. Powered by GoPro's custom-designed GP1 processor, HERO6 was recognized by the Innovation Awards judging panel for its new level of performance, including 4K60 and 1080p240 video, and the most advanced stabilization ever achieved in a GoPro. Additional features like voice control, waterproof design and new touch zoom were considered, while the camera's ability to automatically transform photos and videos into a QuikStory edit right on your phone made HERO6 a standout in the category.
'Receiving two CES Innovations Awards is a significant honor and achievement,' said Sandor Barna, VP of Hardware Engineering at GoPro. 'Our teams around the world incredibly hard to engineer and product that constantly raises the bar for video and photo capture. These awards are recognition of those efforts and of the amazing talent that puts their heart into developing every GoPro product.'
GoPro's first compact spherical device, Fusion, was also recognized as an Innovation Award Honoree for its outstanding engineering, aesthetic and design qualities, unique features and ease of use against the competitive 360-camera landscape. Fusion captures immersive 360 video in 5.2K for playback as VR, but it was GoPro's OverCapture software, which allows users to pick their favorite shots and share them as traditional videos from their desktop or phone, that made Fusion a standout for Innovation Award judges.
GoPro will demo HERO6 Black, Fusion and its other award-winning products at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas from January 9 - 12, 2018.
