Guidance Software, makers of EnCase®, the gold standard in forensic security, announced today that the Tableau Forensic Duplicator model TD2u was named Computer Forensic Hardware of the Year by Forensic 4:cast. Determined by voting from the forensic investigations community, Tableau hardware products have won the category every year since 2009.

“The digital forensics community selects Forensic 4:cast Award winners through their votes. Winners reflect investigators’ choices for the best resources available,” said Forensic 4:cast Founder Lee Whitfield. “Guidance Software continues to be an industry leader, as reaffirmed by their successes year-after-year.”

The fourth-generation Tableau forensic duplicator from Guidance, the TD2u is capable of imaging USB 3.0, SATA, IDE/PATA and SAS storage devices. It also supports whole disk encryption of destination drives by using a user-supplied password and the XTS-AES encryption algorithm.

“Our Tableau team continues to develop hardware products that speed and simplify the important work done by forensic investigators around the world,” said Ken Basore, senior vice president of product engineering at Guidance. “We are proud to receive this honor from the forensic community, and we are committed to delivering the hardware performance that investigators demand through continuous, customer-driven innovation.”
