Heijmans has sold the landscaping and golf operations of the Heijmans Roads business unit 'Sport & Groen' to the unit's current management team. Heijmans will retain the third component, 'Sport', comprising the construction of sports fields, accommodations and lighting. Approximately 100 employees, primarily field staff, will be transferred to the new company. The remaining approx. 10 employees involved in the 'Sport' sector will continue to be employed by Heijmans. The new company, which over the years came about through various mergers of business units of the Heijmans Group, will now enter a new phase.

The current management team, which since the formation of Heijmans Sport & Groen have been associated with the organisation, are the new owners of Golf & Groen. 'This management buy-out enables us to expand our services in the area of landscape maintenance, such as roof gardens and the construction of golf courses,' say the new owners of 'De Enk Groen & Golf'. 

The sports activities, which will remain part of Heijmans, fit in well with the development and optimisation of the integral proposition in the public space market segment. This is an important market segment for Heijmans Roads. Projects, such as the hockey field for the world championships in the Kyocera Stadion in The Hague, the sports accommodations of the future concept and products such as LED sports lighting, are examples of this.

The settlement of the sale will be completed over the next few months. During that time 'De Enk Groen & Golf' will move to a different location.
