The Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company Group (Coca-Cola HBC) now operates on a state-of-the-art Data Center (DC), one of the largest Data Centers not only in Greece but also in Europe, Middle East and Africa, servicing business transactions for 28 countries where the Group operates. This great and complex project, a 43 million euros investment by Coca-Cola HBC, has been successfully constructed and delivered on time by the OTE Group and Coca-Cola HBC is already running its operation from the OTE Group DC. The project represented the country via the Federation of Hellenic Information Technology & Communications Enterprises (SEPE) at the international Information Technology awards, the WITSA Global ICT Excellence Awards 2016, receiving international acclaim.

The project implementation began in September 2015 with the setup of infrastructure at OTE group facilities. In this framework, operational applications, such as ERP and CRM, and Databases were migrated. The full migration was completed within the set timeframes, without any disruption to Coca-Cola Hellenic's operations, while the OTE Group, via its highly specialized personnel, has been assigned to manage, operate and support data center facilities, systems and data network infrastructure.

More than 500 virtual servers and Databases have been installed in more than 70 physical servers for the operation of the new Data Center. These servers have a 600TB storage space and operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, serving all business operations and functions of the Coca-Cola HBC Group in 28 countries. The Data Center will facilitate operations such as Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Call Center and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), which is the most demanding application, as Coca-Cola Hellenic receives more than 18.5 mil. orders annually.

Mr. Galip Onar, IT Operations Director of the Coca-Cola HBC Group, commenting on this highly advanced Data Center, stated: 'We are very pleased with the completion of this major investment in Greece, which creates added value for our Group and showcases the country's prospects. Today, Greece hosts some of Coca-Cola HBC's most important operations, which are supported from this day on by one of the greatest Data Centers in Europe'.

Mr. George Athanasopoulos, OTE Group Chief Information Technology Officer, stated: 'The creation of Coca-Cola HBC's new Data Center was a large and demanding IT project. International recognition at the WITSA Global ICT Excellence Awards

The Federation of Hellenic Information Technology & Communications Enterprises (SEPE) in cooperation with the OTE Group and the Coca-Cola HBC Group submitted a nomination for the project in order for the latter to represent Greece at the WITSA Global ICT Excellence Awards 2016. The event is organized every 2 years by the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA) and the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) in order to honor organizations that have demonstrated excellence in using Information and Communications Technology (ICT) systems to the benefit of society, the Public sector, an enterprise or even an individual. The highly advanced Data Center created by OTE Group for the Coca-Cola Hellenic was nominated for the Private Sector Excellence Award in the Large Private Sector Investments category and received a Merit Award on behalf of the country.
