The Spanish National Federation of Self-Employed Associations (ATA) and IBERDROLA have entered into a collaboration agreement that will entitle ATA members to advantageous conditions in energy supply contracts and other exclusive products and services.

The agreement signed today in Madrid by the Managing Director of IBERDROLA Clientes, Aitor Moso, and the General Secretary of the ATA, Soraya Mayo, is part of IBERDROLA's commitment to boosting the self-employed sector, which plays a crucial role in the Spanish economy. Aitor Moso explained that the agreement "reflects our company's unwavering commitment to launching customised services to meet the needs of the self-employed, with special energy supply offers, optimised contracts and the implementation of energy efficiency measures".

Soraya Mayo, General Secretary of the ATA, spoke after the signing to express her satisfaction with this partnership that reinforces the organisation and boosts its efforts and commitments towards its members and self-employed workers in general. "Our members had campaigned for us to enter into an agreement with an energy firm and we kept working to achieve the best possible terms. Fixed overheads feature very prominently in the day-to-day business of the self-employed and our goal was to bring them down and give our members a well-deserved rebate", explained Ms. Mayo.

"Now is the time for large firms to take the side of small businesspeople and entrepreneurs.  The ATA will continue to defend the interests of the self-employed, as we have done for the last 20 years", were the parting words by the General Secretary of the ATA.

To be more specific, IBERDROLA will be offering ATA members exclusive discounts, which will be applicable to both new contracts and those that are already its customers.  It will also be giving them individual advice with a view to optimising their contracts as regards contracted power, availing of time-based pricing, etc.

With 500,000 members, the ATA represents 42% of self-employed workers in Spain. It will be cooperating with IBERDROLA on all aspects related to efficiency in electricity use, technological innovation and sustainable development, with a view to bringing down costs and achieving better energy efficiency.

In this regard, IBERDROLA will be providing advisory sessions free of charge to all ATA members to help them save on their energy bills by implementing energy efficiency measures.  It will also be offering preferential conditions, other products and servicesExternal link, opens in new window. such as Fixed RateExternal link, opens in new window. , e-billsExternal link, opens in new window. , customer support and emergency services, energy audits, efficient lighting, etc.
