LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwired - Oct 26, 2015) - At the annual Money20/20 conference in Las Vegas, Ingenico Group (Euronext: FR0000125346 - ING), global leader in seamless payment solutions, announced that Sleepy's, the largest privately-held specialty mattress and bedding accessories retailer in the U.S., has committed to upgrading to Ingenico Group smart terminals to securely accept EMV credit and debit cards and NFC/contactless mobile payments at all of its 1,000+ stores by the end of 2015.

"Sleepy's evaluated all the top vendors and found that Ingenico Group was the best fit for our needs," said Tom Citrano, Director of Quality Assurance at Sleepy's. "We were impressed with their global experience and also with the responsiveness and flexibility of the Ingenico Group team -- from our initial meeting all the way through our deployment, they were by our side facilitating every step of the way to ensure that everything went smoothly."

Ingenico Group provided Sleepy's with its iSC Touch 480 smart terminals and the IngEstate terminal management system. The smart terminals allow Sleepy's to accept debit cards, EMV chip cards and NFC/contactless payments from customers. The terminals also include large touch-screen displays that enable signature capture. The IngEstate terminal management system allows Sleepy's to remotely manage its entire payment estate. Benefits to Sleepy's include:

  • Cost savings: By now accepting debit cards and connecting directly to an acquirer, Sleepy's significantly reduced costs on both processing and gateway fees.

  • EMV, NFC/contactless ready: With the latest EMV and NFC/contactless enabled smart terminals in place, Sleepy's is now able to offer multiple payment options to its customers to enhance the checkout experience, and is also EMV enabled.

  • Higher payment security: Although Sleepy's has been protecting card data using tokenization for some time, Ingenico Group's agnostic approach allowed the company to add an extra layer of security by integrating with a third-party P2PE solution.

  • Flexibility: Ingenico Group's IngEstate terminal management system provided Sleepy's with the flexibility to manage all of its smart terminals remotely, including remote software updates, which helps reduce maintenance costs.

  • PCI scope reduction: Sleepy's was able to reduce PCI scope by using a P2PE solution that limits the environment that card data touches while a transaction is being processed.

"We're pleased to add Sleepy's to our rapidly growing roster of U.S. customers," said Mark Treco, Vice President of Retail Sales, North America at Ingenico Group. "The Sleepy's team set a high bar for performance and we're proud to have exceeded it. Sleepy's is providing an even more seamless and efficient checkout experience with a myriad of new options for payment, including EMV and NFC/contactless."
