In a keynote at the O'Reilly Artificial Intelligence Conference in San Francisco, Intel's Lisa Spelman, vice president and general manager of Intel® Xeon® products and marketing in the Data Center Group, announced the Intel® Nervana™ DevCloud, a cloud-hosted hardware and software platform for developers, data scientists, researchers, academics and startups to learn, sandbox and accelerate development of AI solutions with free compute cloud access powered by Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors. By providing compute resources for machine learning and deep learning training and inference compute needs, Intel is enabling users to start exploring AI innovation without making their own investments in compute resources up front. In addition to cloud compute resources, frameworks, tools and support are provided.

Press Kit:Artificial Intelligence

The Intel Nervana DevCloud will be available to 200,000 developers, researchers, academics and startups of the Intel Nervana AI Academy in October, and pre-registration submissions are being accepted now. A quick registration process with the Academy is available to those who are interested to join and enjoy complete access to the Intel Nervana DevCloud.

Intel is also committed to make upcoming Intel Nervana AI platforms and technologies available to Intel Nervana AI Academy members.

Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence with Tata Consultancy Services

During her keynote, Spelman also announced that Intel and Tata Consultancy Services* (TCS) are working together to create an Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence (CoE) for accelerating the development of AI solutions, helping developers, academics and startups to propel their solutions from conceptualization to implementation. The CoE will collaborate with academic communities to develop new algorithms for AI, support AI research projects and enhance teaching content in classrooms. Through the center, Intel Nervana AI Academy members will also have access to machine learning and deep learning frameworks, tools and libraries optimized for Intel Xeon Scalable processors, Intel® Xeon Phi™ processors and Intel Nervana AI technologies complete with training and access to experts.

Intel's Naveen Rao, corporate vice president and general manager of the Artificial Intelligence Products Group, will also speak at O'Reilly tomorrow as part of a fireside chat with Draper Fisher Jurvetson's Steve Jurvetson, explaining how Intel Nervana technology is evolving the AI stack from the edge all the way to the cloud so that true AI transformation can happen across every experience and every vertical.
