Wind River®, a world leader in embedded and mobile software, will be presenting and exhibiting in the Intelligent Systems Zone at DESIGN West 2013 taking place April 22-25 in San Jose, California. The company will drive intelligent systems awareness and education through a series of activities to address the topic of the transforming embedded market.

"The transformation of the embedded industry into a world of intelligent systems is revolutionizing many traditional industries, and is actually changing the design process itself for engineers, designers and developers," said Santhosh Nair, general manager of the intelligent systems group at Wind River. "Wind River technology is powering these intelligent systems, which are generating never-before-realized insights that can be used to optimize global productivity, improve efficiency, and create new revenue streams."

Wind River will lead the following technical sessions in the Intelligent Systems Zone, booth no. 926:

  • Accelerating Intelligent Systems through Embedded Software Development: This session will cover the key factors for developing and operating machine-to-machine devices and intelligent systems including connectivity, manageability, and security, and how to accelerate this development at scale.
  • Securing the Internet of All Things Android: This session will cover the security threats to consider when building, deploying, and using Android-based devices, as well as intelligent security capabilities for Android.
  • Enabling the Engine for the Internet of All Things: This session will cover the operating system capabilities needed to enable intelligent devices that allow for new user experiences, enhanced productivity, improved safety and security, and increased efficiency for businesses and consumers alike.
  • Yocto Project: A New Paradigm in Embedded Development: This panel session will cover why the rise in intelligent systems has contributed to the Yocto Project taking flight, how the Yocto Project is being used in real-world applications, and what lies ahead.

Wind River will also host an intelligent systems event with Intel® and McAfee during DESIGN West that will examine the rise of intelligent systems and how embedded software and hardware are being utilized to design products with greater intelligence, enhanced functionality, and built-in security. Guest speakers will include Eric Ries, author and pioneer of entrepreneurial approaches to development; and Mario Morales, program vice president, semiconductors and EMS at IDC, whose team has been instrumental in defining the intelligent systems market.
